Okay. Who isn't at least somewhat intrigued by the new 2-D movie Disney's making,
The Princess and the Frog?
I can say I'm utterly psyched and it's still 7 months away!! xDDDD I'm hoping it's going to be a good movie and I'm sure (to me) it will. The animation is STUNNING! If you haven't seen the commercial yet then click here
[link] . If you're not in it for the Disney plot then go for the animation! The art is B-E-A-UTIFUL! <333
Yes I'm a sucker for this stuff, and unlike others, I like a lot of the recent movies that Disney's come out with (Not the sequels mind you but...). Like Brother Bear, Treasure Planet, I even liked Home on the Range although it's definitely not my absolute favorite of all time omg. x3 I'm just not naturally critical towards movies unless they're scary.
Anyways, where I'm going with all that talk? Is that I look forward to the new movie and I know I'll like it. I love it already and all I've watched is just the trailer! But thing is that I think it's really silly for so many people to get wound up about it and prejudging it. I've heard about people accusing racism because of the lead character and about the setting. The previous title
The Frog Princess (Not that it was intended) suggested that Negroes are ugly or look like frogs. Which I find ridiculous to take that sort of interpretation from that title. Whenever I first read it I just thought of the fairytale, but no that wasn't what it meant for some people. So now it's
The Princess and the Frog. I don't mind which it would've turned out to be, but it seems rather unnecessary. I think because it's one of the first hand-drawn animation movies from Disney to go back to the basics in a long time. I think lots of people are hoping for another Disney Golden Age or Disney Renaissance Era (whichever it's referred), but I also believe that people expect Disney to muck it up. Disney's been labeled because of all the sequels they have produced in most recent years, and I guess I really agree that they shouldn't have tried to add on at all. I believe that you should stick to what works and the sequels weren't working. Okay now I'm rambling about the sequels. All I'm trying to say is that just because of some movies they produced doesn't mean they won't create anymore instant-classics. I think the best thing to do instead of to try and figure out every aspect of the movie and overanalyze everything, we be positive and patient and just watch the movie when it comes! Because another thing I've heard is people who watched the trailer complaining about how we don't know what the basic plot is other than she turns into a frog too after kissing him. It's a little early to try and crack the plot now, isn't it? I mean, it comes out in
December, yes? So I think they have the right to be vague until closer to the release date where they could give more story and leave a cliffhanger enticing us to buy tickets to see it.
Wow that's a huge section. I guess I had a bit to say, and I haven't even put all my thoughts into the subject. One thing that bugged me so much was reading this article about
The Princess and the Frog:
[link]One thing I have to say is IT'S DISNEY! Disney is for the kids not to make racial stabs or political statements. A lot of claims or complaints made me shake my head because it doesn't make sense to make so many outlandish complaints before even the release of the movie.
But other than all the meeeeeehhhhhh complaining and me venting what I think on that, have I mentioned how much I'm looking forward to this! 8DDD
where has you gooooone? ;A; surely school is over for you by now! >A<
